Arrival and Departure
Check in is available from 4.00pm to 7.30pm on the day of arrival. We ask that you please vacate your room by 10.30am on the morning of departure.
Early/late check in and late check out can be arranged at an additional fee and by prior arrangement only (subject to availability). Give us a call on 01369 704 825 to arrange. Please note we do not offer a bag drop off service.
Booking and cancellations
It's always best to book us directly via our website, email or phone. Our direct rates are always cheaper than those on Booking.com (due to their massive commission fee) and we offer our direct guests complimentary upgrades when possible and other perks.
Please note the cancellation policy before committing to a reservation.
We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favour of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. For this reason we advise that you take out a suitable insurance product in case you are unable to travel.
We charge 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of the booking (or whole amount on reservations made less than 7 days before the check in date). The balance is payable upon check in (Updated 16 March 2020)
If a reservation is cancelled less than 7 days before date of arrival or in case of a no show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Bookings made via third parties such as Booking.com may be subject to differing terms and conditions in force at the time of booking - always read all the info carefully before making the booking.
Please cancel your platter orders at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise full charges will apply.
A small car park is available at the front of the hotel. Parking is free and on a first come, first served basis. Cars and their contents are left at your own risk.
Change of Room
If a booking is taken out for a specific room and the room reserved is required to meet a specific guest needs or rendered unusable via circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to transfer the booking to an alternative room of similar quality.
Damage and Breakages
Please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We reserve the right to charge the full replacement cost for any item or piece of furniture removed from the room, and this can be done after departure. These include, but are not limited to:

We are happy to accept well behaved, house-trained adult dogs for a small supplement of £25 for the entire stay. One dog per room maximum, please. We can provide you with a towel and a feeding bowl. Please bring your own food and bedding.
Please note that whilst our bedrooms and the guest lounge are dog-friendly, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. We know that this does not suit all dog owners so please ensure you are happy with this policy before booking as we are unable to make exceptions apart from for registered guide-dogs. We have a diverse range of guests staying in the hotel, some with pet-hair allergies and some simply scared of dogs. Please be mindful of this during your stay. We ask you not to leave your dog alone in the bedroom when you go out.
Please note you will also be responsible for any additional cost for deep-cleaning, repair and replacement of damaged facilities caused by your pet. If we find any dog mess in the room , the charge will be the cost of one night's accommodation plus £75.00 for deep-cleaning and sanitising.
You have access to the building and your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay using a set of keys given to you when you register on arrival. You have full responsibility of these keys for the duration of your stay. Lost keys will be charged at £50 per set.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.
We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. However, there will be a postage and packing charge plus £10 admin fee.
We accept the following credit and debit cards: Delta, Maestro, MasterCard and Visa. We do not accept cheques.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.
Smoking is NOT permitted within any part of The St Ives. Please note that offending guests will be asked to leave immediately and we will make a charge for deep cleaning, this can be applicable after your departure. This charge will be £100.
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to terminate, without notice, an individual's stay where deemed necessary through unacceptable behaviour or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others (Please note that non compliance of our non smoking policy may also constitute termination). In such circumstances any outstanding account must be settled, no refunds will be made.
